The Yankell Legacy Gallery is a fine art gallery and cultural destination located in the heart of the New York metropolitan area. Our program reflects a commitment to artistic quality, breadth, and legacy, representing established contemporary artists, important estates, and multiple generations of working artists whose careers span decades of exhibition, collecting, and public recognition.

The gallery is set in the historic stone studio of Gutzon Borglum, the sculptor of Mount Rushmore, built in 1911. The soaring monumental architecture, combined with Japanese-inspired gardens overlooking the Rippowam River, creates an experience that is both culturally rich and visually memorable. Over the years, the gallery has become a destination for collectors and art enthusiasts from across the United States and abroad.

Yankell Legacy Gallery

The gallery's identity is rooted in a remarkable artistic lineage that includes Stuart Yankell, his father Samuel Yankell, and his godfather Leon Bibel. In the tradition of celebrated artistic families such as the Wyeths and Calders, the gallery reflects a continuity of artistic practice, mentorship, and creative achievement across generations. Alongside this legacy, the gallery represents a carefully curated selection of internationally recognized as well as emerging artists whose work spans a wide range of styles, perspectives, and generations. The gallery and its artists have participated in major art fairs throughout the United States, developing lasting relationships with collectors, museums, curators, and cultural institutions.

The Yankell Legacy Gallery is located just north of Manhattan in Stamford, Connecticut and is open by appointment. Please contact us for additional information and to schedule a visit.
